Beer has come a long and healthy way. From coffee-infused beer to HefeWheaties, enjoying a bottle of suds has become quite the diverse experience. The good news is that many of the offerings are quite healthy.
The company Kombucha tea has brought its live probiotics and vitamins to the brewing world. Kombrewcha is a low alcohol, low calorie, tea-beer brewed with agave sweetener. Lambrucha, on the other hand, is a combination of the central Asian kombucha tea and Lambic beer. Another such initiative has been introduced by tea purveyor Rishi Tea and Red Brick Brewing Co. They call their creation Divine Bovine, it is a milk stout brewed with organic chai tea. Blue Moon’s Chai Spiced Ale also utilizes chai’s cardamom and ginger flavors. Brewers Stone, Ishii and Baird have managed to create a Japanese Green Tea IPA. Drawing on imported whole-leaf green tea imported from Japan, the beer manages to elicit herbal and hoppy undertones.
Nowadays, you can enjoy a healthy and creative twist on just about anything you can consume. It will be interesting to see how beer continues to evolve in a health-conscious world. Have you tried any of the above products? If so, be sure to let us know!
